Outfit for Today: Inverted Triangle Style

Most people say I have a strange and unusual style. I'm not afraid to pair things together that others might otherwise wear with simple, basic colors. There's nothing wrong with that way of dressing, but I prefer to take risks. Sometimes, my risks bomb, horribly. Sometimes, on a day like today, I feel they pay off tremendously.

Today I wore plaid-printed Oxford flats. This type of shoe does wonders for the calves and leg. My body type is: Inverted Triangle. Everything is on top. I have nice legs, small hips, waist, and no butt. I need to create the illusion that I have curves on the bottom while downplaying my large chest and broad shoulders on top. This is done by wearing a black long-sleeved shirt.

To create the illusion of curves on the bottom, i wear a lighter-colored ruffled mini skirt, use a light-colored belt to accentuate my waist and nip in a light blue sleeveless vest. This gives even more volume at my waist. Now, instead of being an Inverted Triangle, I have created the illusion that I am an Hourglass, or a proportionate figure.

The goal of dressing is to appear proportionate, unless you're Lady Gaga, then you do whatever you damn well please and still look fabulous every day. Lucky Gaga.
