Hair Stickers: Worth the money, or best left to the pros?

Good Morning lovelies! All the coverage of Fashion Week has left us in a dizzying and beautiful array of photos and trends and ideas for fall outfits. Articles are popping up left and right highlighting small details from each designer as well as the larger trends from model to model, but one trend has stood out to me and made me want to try, but wonder if maybe it's best left to the pros: hair stickers.

These beauties were seen on the runways from the Honor show, and it's true, on the runway they were beautiful and airy and the perfect touch to the outfits. Many companies are now offering varying versions of this fairytale accessory, enticing customers to add some dainty femininity to your hairstyle. The question is though, is it actually realistic to wear these while going for a coffee run or out a date?

These are some of the versions that are for sale across the internet:

These versions are sold for $9.99 here: Hair Stickers

And here: miabeauty.com

The price is right for the number and size of the stickers you get, and they're non-adhesive, won't ruin your hair, and add a fun touch to your updo. There are various sizes and other shapes and designs too, and to me the large crowns are so cool I'm on the verge of buying, will you try this trend or leave it for the pros?

It's that time again....

Time to pull out your beakers and bunsen burners; it's time for Breaking Bad once again! Last week the final season kicked off with Walter White threatening Hank when he realized Hank knew about him being Heisenberg. I was at the edge of my seat at that moment, and I'm dying to know how this epic series is going to end. But until we find out, I'll enjoy the amazing Breaking Bad fashion that's come out of their amazing run on tv.

And if you want to buy that amazing sweatshirt for the show finale, you can find it here for only $31:

Kesha Rose: Worth Drooling Over

Good morning lovelies. For those who haven't heard, Kesha, the singer and songwriter best known for her wild stage ensembles and even more wild interviews, has created her own jewelry line in a collaboration with jewelry artist Charles Albert. I was a bit skeptical when I heard about it since I also recently just found out that she created a headdress with her fan's teeth. Yes, you read that correctly, her fans unwanted leftover teeth.

I nervously clicked on the link to her site, expecting to see her selling  actual teeth and other various body part pieces, but instead her jewelry line is actually.really amazing! The pieces are very affordable, ranging from $10 all the way up to $600, and they include colorful skulls, roses, lightening bolts and even a penis or two! They of course have a hint of that Kesha "I don't care attitude" mixed with a lot of glamorous earthy drama that actually makes the pieces very wearable. Well, you can judge that for yourself, but I know what I'll be buying myself for my birthday present...

Back to school gadgets: $50 or Less

Good Morning lovelies! School is right around the corner, and as the days grow shorter and the weather starts to marginally turn colder, it means that not only do you need the best outfits, but also, some really cool accessories for your necessary classroom gadgets!

Back to School Basics

$50 or less

I wish I had this amazing little device whenever I was working in the library and suddenly had to get up and go to the bathroom. This would've saved me so much headache and hassle having to pack up and then unpack my laptop and notebooks, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Otterbox phone cases are personally my favorite because I've dealt with them and have had my phone and seen other's phones saved by the box. I recommend it for everyone like me who is texting, stumbles, and down goes the phone right smack onto the tile floor.

This bad boy looks odd, but it's a necessary cooler for under your laptop. My laptop died from overheating, so I can not stress how important these are for extending the life and performance of one's sacred portable. Birthday present anyone?

National Elephant Appreciation Day

Good evening lovelies! Today was National Elephant Appreciation Day! For those who have never heard of it, it's the day where we celebrate the magnificent species that has survived for 50 million years on our beautiful planet.

I am obsessed with elephants myself and love learning about them, as well as wearing beautiful pieces that showcase their amazing legacy. I've been told it's good luck if the trunk is up on whatever elephant-resembling item you own.

National Elephant Appreciation Day 2013

For those who don't much about this beautiful species, you can find out how to get involved and learn more by visiting this website:

Or you can read one of  my favorite books of all-time, Elephantoms, written by a man exploring the history and nature of this species, as well as including a beautiful retelling of his first encounter with one and his life thereafter:

Or you can show your love by wearing a beautiful piece like this that is functional yet fun and starts a conversation usually by way of "Are those elephants? That's so cute!" (I'm speaking from personal experience on that one)

Back to school best: $50 or less

Good morning lovelies! For everyone gearing up for next month when pencils and papers are a flurry and deadlines begin, then now is a critical time to make sure you have that amazing first-day outfit to make great impressions, and also to fall back on when you need to command attention for a presentation. I always get so excited for this time of year because for me it symbols to FINALLY break out the boots and jackets after a scorching hot summer.

Back to School Best

$50 or Less

Overall each piece is neutral, but it's the small details in each one, like the pattern of the dress, the platform of the oxfords, the lace paneling of the jacket, and the chain detail of the bag that are special. These things make an otherwise ordinary piece an amazing wardrobe staple that you'll live in. While this outfit may be a bit much for some, hopefully inspiration comes from these pieces for seriously sexy scholarly style.

Designer Obsession: Erica Weiner

Good evening lovelies. Last night I stumbled across this amazing jewelry designer, Erica Weiner. I am so excited about her jewelry because of her fun collection. Born in Brooklyn and influenced by an Art History degree from Vassar College + traveling for Broadway shows doing costuming, her pieces are undeniably unique and have a personality all their own. Her USA-made jewelry makes a statement, ranging from the large and unusual to delicate and lady-like, all while being very affordable.

My favorites from her collection

$50 or Less

Arrow Hoops: $45.00

These are so fun, and every time I look at these I get Nelly Furtado's "Big Hoops" stuck in my head. Hoops like these are perfect for anyone looking to make a statement, especially for anyone with a lot of voluminous hair. They're very easy to style yet big enough they won't be hidden if you feel like wearing your hair down, a common problem I have since I have a lot of thick, curly hair with a ton of volume that hides most earrings.

 Winged Migration Necklace: $40.00

I love really beautiful pieces that are "thoughtless" in a sense: you don't have to wonder if they're going to look good with what you have on, you can just throw it on and go. This airplane necklace is really fun and easy for when you're in a rush and not sure what to wear with that shirtdress or blouse or tank top - you're going to look stylish and put together in an instant. I love traveling, and I absolutely LOVE airplanes - I really enjoy getting to travel in them. I've been flying since I was 3 years old, so to me this necklace is a great way to feel very worldly, even when you're stuck in the office.

Cicada Earrings: $30.00

These are a bit more funky and for the adventurous. The Cicadas make the very fun unusual cricket-y sound you hear at night, and this summer is the first time in 19 years most of the US has seen them. They are a fascinating species since certain kinds of Cicada stay underground and only emerge once every 19 years to reproduce. Living in the south, I hear them every night due to the kind that emerge once every 2 years that are prevalent in southern Louisiana.

Pen Nib Necklaces: $40.00

Paired with a structured dress, or button-up shirt and pencil skirt, this necklace evokes a very Joan from Mad Men feel that is so fun and so very 1950's.  The slight secretary, office-chic vibe is a really perfect way to add some fun to your 9-5.
