Super huge sale at JCPenny's

Hello again everyone! Grab your purses and run to the nearest JCPenny!

Right now, your JCPenny's should have just gone through a series of major markdowns on their already steal-worthy clearance. I was very lucky enough one morning when buzzing around the store to see these 2 items poking out of the clearance rack, so I snapped them up after I was done for the day. They're the perfect addition to any wardrobe and are very easy to style.

JCPenny's Sale Steals

This super gorgeous Worthington top was only $2.50 after all the clearance markdowns were taken!! This gorgeous peplum detail top would be perfect with a pair of leather pants and some statement heels, or under a jacket paired with a pencil skirt for a professional look.

This Worthington jacket was only $10 after all the clearance markdowns. I love a great suit jacket, but one with sequins is of course, even better. The possibilities are endless with this sturdy yet light-weight piece.

I'm not saying you need to spend hours scouring the sales racks, but an extra 15 minutes could land you amazing finds for less than $15. If you get some time, check out the closest store to you and be prepared to walk out a happy shopper <3 comment-3--="">

New Beginnings

Hello again! It's been a REALLY long time since I've posted, but I didn't fall off the earth, I promise! I've been under construction, and now here is my new and improved blog layout! Much easier on the eyes than my last layout, wouldn't you say?

I've recently become the Visual Merchandiser for my JCPenny's, and I am so excited because not only am I in a super fun retail environment, but I can also let you know when major sales are happening! And yes, you read correctly, I am THE Visual Merchandiser. I am responsible for the entire store, and while I've never been responsible for an entire store before, I am more than excited for this challenge!
My blog before was all about sales and deals and trends, which is great because many blogs have built their name on runway to closet, but I'm not just a thrift addict in my closet (though that is a huge portion of my thrifty-ness) - I'm a thrift addict in my everyday life. I love eating inexpensively yet clean, finding inexpensive/free entertainment, and decorating for next to nothing. It's important for me to get the most out of my money so that my husband and I can travel when we have time (Inexpensively, of course).

For those that have never traveled - it is the most beautiful and enriching experience. To one day be in New Orleans, the next in Orlando, and the next in the Smokey Mountains, your head swims and your heart swells. I am not only a thrift addict, I am a travel addict. My addiction to traveling is much newer, but it is an ever-present factor in how I build my wardrobe. I no longer need many items, just important, beautiful ones that can work with a multitude of other pieces I have.

It's about quality, not quantity of clothing, experiences, and life <3 br="">

Novembeard: Show your support with style!

Hello lovelies! I'm sure by now you've all heard of, or seen, the trend where during the winter months men don't shave their beards to raise awareness for testicular cancer. At least, it started out that way, and now it's become very popular with not just men, but with accessories too. That's right, facial hair, more importantly mustaches, are popular, and have been seen in stores around the country. In honor of Octobeard, Novembeard, Decembeard, and Januhairy (Yes, those are the hairy names for the winter months when men don't shave) I have brought some of the cutest, and most wearable accessories from the web to show your support too, for cancer AND facial hair.

Pistachio has been very popular this year, but just because it's winter doesn't mean you have to put away your bright colors. There's nothing prettier than a bright pop of color against the neutral winter palettes.

Love cuffs and bangles? Throw on this with your outfit and a small ring or two and that's all the jewelry you'll need with this statement cuff.

Want a bag with a mustache that doesn't scream Hot Topic? This bag is a great way to carry around what you need to and still look like an adult. The color a lovely way to break up the black-on-white go-to for winter months, and the gold mustache adds just the right amount of attitude.

Have a little bit more leeway at work with your wardrobe? Show off your fun and feminine side with this work-appropriate yet statement-making blouse. Since it's a bolder print, you don't need too much jewelry, and taking a cue from the model, black pants or a leather skater skirt would be a great way to wear this piece.

This ring can be that special piece that's the perfect addition to a statement dress, or the perfect add-on to a basic pants + tee combo that adds flair in a ladylike way.

Looking for a polished and tapered way to wear the mustache trend without being too obvious? These pants are work appropriate yet still fun. Wear them with statement heels and a sexy top for a date, or pair it with a fun printed blouse for a night out with the girls.

The Dog Walk

Hello lovelies! I recently came across quite possibly the cutest and cuddliest collaboration in designer history: Ralph Lauren has partnered with the ASPCA and created Ralph Lauren's first ever dog fashion show. 10% of how much is sold of the accessories shown in their adorable video will go to the ASPCA. The film itself is adorable, and I'm really happy that they showed a wide variety of dog breeds: Pit Bulls, Terriers, Dachshunds, mixed breeds, so many adorable faces smiled and panted at the camera and walked by wearing gorgeous accessories we all can drool over.

I hope this isn't the last for Ralph Lauren or the industry.

A few pictures from behind the scenes:

Last-Minute Halloween

I'm going to be honest with you, I completely forgot Halloween was this week until 2 days ago. Now with the clock ticking, it's time to get creative.

What will I be this year? I'm leaning very heavily towards a cheesy 80's trainer. I have good workout gear, weights, and a whistle somewhere among my boxes packed in moving transition. I can get a cheap sweat headband from the Dollar Store, probably some knee-high socks too and tease my hair into all the poofy 80's glory that was.

While my outfit isn't the funniest, I've seen a lot of original and funny ideas for costumes from all around the web. For your viewing pleasure, and maybe some last-minute costume ideas, look no further than below:

So easy and yet effective: I immediately want to start dancing.

You gotta admit, this guy is good.

Heisenberg-er, get it?

Amazing, and really easy too.

I suddenly want to find my Troll doll.

French Kiss - my friend Robbie showed me this one. One of my favorites.

And last, but never least, Google Maps!

Scatter My Ashes as Bergdorf's

For those who are a bit confused about my title, "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's" is a documentary that takes the viewer inside the prestigious and exclusive retailer Bergdorf Goodman's from it's beginnings to the powerhouse hub of designers it is today.

If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend watching. Even if just for the glimpses of glittery dresses and perfectly manicured showrooms, it's absolutely worth it. It is entertaining and fascinating: essentially a wonderful look into the inner workings of a store on that level with that much power behind it's name in the fashion industry.

The woman behind it all today is Linda Fargo, and while she looks like Anna Wintour, it's very quickly revealed she's the polar opposite of Vogue's "Ice Queen". She comes across as easily approachable and always smiling, which almost adds more likeability to Bergdorf's, not that it needs any more of course. Aside from Linda Fargo, there is commentary from various designers that are in Bergdorf's, hopeful designers trying to get in, big names in the fashion industry commenting on their experiences with the retailer, and most importantly, people who actually for Bergdorf's.

With all the wonderful aspects of the documentary, there was one comment that especially stood out to me: Bergdorf's is the "American Dream". I completely agree for entrepreneurs, for designers, for current and aspiring customers- there's nothing better and more prestigious than Bergdorf's. Every designer aspires to have their collection be presented there; every customer wants to shop there, every entrepreneur wants their business to end up like Bergdorf's. To create a business that millions of people flock to to see and experience, and have that last for so long and continue to thrive through recession and decades of shifting economic mindset; it's the ultimate dream for any business owner, and anyone really.

To sum it all up: Scatter my Ashes at Bergdorf's is a beautiful, glittering homage to one family's dream and a testament to the endurance of the ever-aspiring American Dream.

Fall Jewelry Trends

There are certain days that really strongly remind me why I love blogging about less expensive fashion, and today was one of those days. I read an article earlier today about the latest jewelry trends for fall, and every single piece they showed to represent each trend was well into the $150-$400 range, a few even more than that. I had a mini heart-attack with every piece they presented to represent each fall trend.

I am very happy to present to you some amazing pieces for your fall jewelry wardrobe that won't make you have a heart attack of any size.
